Pronto 478 in Bentleigh, Italian Street Food Done Properly
The family has grown south. Pronto 478 opened at 478 Centre Road, Bentleigh, under the same founders and the same kitchen philosophy that guides Il Caminetto: respect the ingredients, respect the craft, respect the people at the table. The format is different, the standard is not.
Instead of a long Neapolitan dinner, Pronto serves the food of an Italian street market, made fresh throughout the day. Think stone-baked Roman-style pizza, pasta tossed to order, panini built to be eaten on the move, and the crisp golden bites Italy is loved for, from arancini to Roman-inspired fried snacks. Every dish is designed to travel well, so a quick order never becomes a compromise. And as at Moonee Ponds, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and halal-conscious guests are cooked for properly, not accommodated grudgingly.
